Joshua's Restaurant & Tavern // Brunswick, Maine

We're an apologetically quirky restaurant/tavern offering a full menu of delicious Maine-favorite foods, from basic pub grub (burgers, nachos, sandwiches & wraps) to steak, seafood, and stone baked pizza offerings. We have 21 beers on tap, an extensive selection of wines by the glass and a full bar.

History

Established in 1990. The Siatras family has had a restaurant in this location for three generations. The family matriarch Pauline, had Clare's Grill, which evolved into Clare's Dolphin Restaurant. Expansions added the Dolphin room, the Thirsty Dolphin, and finally the Dolphin Oyster Bar. Her son John, with his wife Sue took over the operation for many years. There was a brief hiatus, and the business reopened in a smaller potion of the building as Joshua's Tavern under the guidance of John, Sue and their son TJ. It grew, and grew, and grew again. A fire in 2003 gutted the back two buildings, and it would take two years get back to full operation. Tj is the third generation Siatras in the restaurant. After growing up in Brunswick, Tj went off to Cornell where he graduated with a degree in hotel/ restaurant management. After a period of working in Atlanta for Ritz/Carlton he returned home to join the family business. Today, Tj and his wife Cheri are the current owners. Their daughter, Danika can be found hostessing and carrying on the tradition for generation number four.
